Gather:
3/4 stick Margarine
1&1/4 cups firmly packed light brown sugar
2 tbsp. milk
1 tbsp. vanilla
1 egg
1&3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp. salt
3/4 tsp. baking soda
1 cup semi-sweet choolate chips
Do:
1. Heat oven to 375 degrees F.
2. Combine margarine, sugar, milk, and vanilla. Beat at medium speed with electric mixer until well blended. Mix egg in.
3. Combine flour, salt, and baking soda. Mix into creamed mixture just until blended. Stir in chocolate chips.
4. Drop round spoonfuls of dough onto ungreased baking sheet.
5. Bake at 375 degrees F. for 8-10 min. for chewy cookies, 11-18 min. for crisp cookies. Cool 2 min on baking sheets, then remove to alluminum foil on countertop.
