Our house has been the epitome of craziness the last week or so. First of all, my mom has been babysitting Zeneida and Lindsay. Then my grandparents came and worked on our basement. Then our AC started freezing, so we couldn’t use it yesterday, which inevitably made it desperately hot and humid inside.
That was NOT fun.
So finally, I escaped to the basement last night, where I read Out of the Silent Planet, which I finished this morning. I haven’t read a lot of science fiction, so it was a bit of a stretch for my brain, but I enjoyed it (I think).
I played a practical joke on Daniel the other day. He found a nickel, and I asked to see it. I held it up and said, "oh...wow!" He said, "what is it?" I told him*coughcough* that he had found a valuable coin, and told him to look at Jefferson's hair. I showed him the little pigtail/bow thing, and on the spot made up a whole story about how the hairstyle on the old nickels (this one was dated 1974) was different than it is now, that they had changed it, and that the old nickels were collector's items...worth about 50$. It was great. He fell for it instantly, but when he started making plans of how he would sell it on ebay, I began wincing with guilt and let out the whole thing.

Meredith! What a cruel joke! It sounds like the kind my brother used to play on me!
Actually, I'm just bitter because my little sister wasn't NEARLY as gullible as I was, so while I fell for everything Danny told me, I was almost never able to trick Kimberly. Sigh. So good job on filling the "take advantage of younger sibling's guillibility" role of the older sibling:)
i've got to be the most gullible person on the face of the earth. fortunatley i'm aware of it now and i'm not on quite as extreme a level of gullibleness. i don't fall for "gullible is writen on the ceiling" jokes anymore.
