small amusements

• Last weekend, I went to Belmont, home of the talented local artist Gari Melchers. We toured his house, grounds, and studio. Check out some of his artwork here.
  
• Earlier this week, we went to the circus. I hadn't been for years, and I loved it!
  My favorite things: the blindfolded tightwalker, the guys on the rotating wheel, and the acrobats on the red swing.

I'm going to see Prince Caspian today w/ the boys & Bianca!

Also today, I'll be helping to paint sets for the next CYT performace. I'm looking forward to getting all paint-ey and messy!

"1 Slaying of Dragons?"

Volunteering at the library can be interesting. We made a Chinese Dragon. I did the head. Head-tail, he is about 12 feet long. Happy Chinese New Year!

Also, I saw the Narnia movie during Christmas vacation--fantastic!!!

In January, I went to a youth weekend in NH, and had a smashing time. Actually, I smashed my face into the glass window pane of a heavy door. And cut my nose. No, I didn't break my nose, yes I broke the glass. I was bleeding and the whole she-bang... went to the emergency room and got some sort of skin glue put on the cut. I'm quite alright, thank you, and it's healing very nicely.

The Incredible Incredibles

I finally saw the whole movie yestereday afternoon. The little bubble-gum kid was the best. the "That was totally WICKED!!!" line caught me completely off guard (no-one says 'wicked' down here--they'd probably look at you funny) and I laughed for the rest of the evening whenever I thought of it. The Edna character was a bit wierd. I didn't realise she was a she for quite some time. Did anyone else have this problem?

A trailer review.

I watched the online trailer (see link) of The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe.
It looks interesting, and the movie should (at least) be somewhat of an improvement over the old version...(which, for those of you who haven't had the pleasure, was :P most of the time)
I don't think the trailer really does it justice. Towards the end it looked a little too bright, and gave me that tired "oh, they're just going to ruin it" feeling, but one can never be too sure... If anything, I will definitely watch it (duh!) So on that happy note, tata.
